The 8th Graders interviewed people in their family or community who are activists or have had experiences with activism. This is part of the work they are doing for their Change Projects. The idea is to get students to reflect on the different methods that activists employ and the issues that have affected those closest to them. Students have practiced their interviewing skills over the last two years. I felt that most students handled the difficult task of translating an interview into an article very well. I suggest reading several different ones. Students need a wide and varied audience for their work.
